Back in 1995 I while attending college as an illustration major I came up with this concept in a sketch and really wanted to capture it at a larger than life scale. I was inspired by music ,movies, culture as well as some photography. My initial intentions were to depict a very macabre and dark image featuring torture / dungeon themed elements. As I was working on the painting it sort of shifted into a cleaner more anatomical look. I'm leaving the painting's meaning open for interpretation. After successfully completing the first (Wrath1), I decided to turn it into a series. I first do a sketch and form the gesture, I then photograph a skeleton in certain ways and use specific lighting. Next I shoot a human the same configuration. I use the 2 references to complete the painting. This is a high quality Giclee print on canvas, varnished, stretched on "1.5 inches deep frame, hand signed.
