This modern-day "swashbuckler" is, in fact, a professional "pirate re-enactor," a friend of mine from Los Angeles, who was created to be a pirate. He makes his own extremely elaborate & historically correct and colorful costumes, and among the Renaissance Faire crowd is known as "the king of pirates"--rightfully so.
