I've kept the path lighter than that of the photo so the shadows would show up better though decided to omit the puddle. Kept the distant trees light in tone to contrast with those closer and help create depth. I managed to restrain myself when painting the foreground - it's easy to overdo it but I tried to keep the brushstrokes to a minimum and keep it simple.
