Phantom of the Opera

The Norwegian Opera. The cultural and architectural masterpiece, designed by Snøhetta. What more to say about this marvelous structure? Not much. That's why I had to go there and try to create my version of it. How do I feel about the architecture, the look, it's place among the city? After spending a day in Oslo walking around this structure, contemplating, I was left with a few shots of different angles, perspectives and parts not normally considered by the public. None of them stood out. I walked a couple of steps away, back to the small bridge that connects the street to the small marble island this opera is built on. There, I was left tired and wanting to scrap the project. Anyways, I lent on to the railing, trying to rest my sore back. That's when I saw what I had been searching for. This perspective. How the separate blocks seems to be soaring above each other, each building resting on a wonderfully impossible angle to create a building that is full of meaning. The light, the skies, everything seemed to be cooperating at this singular point of time in the day. Even though I had forgot my tripod, I managed to balance my camera on my jacket lying on the railing, and after taking several pictures I had what I felt was the one. The building speaks to me in this picture. It tells me of all its experiences, it astonishes with its architectural possibilities, and multitude of perspectives. That is what I call the phantom of the opera.
