In Buddhism, it is believed that the teachers like Ghandi, Buddha, Jesus, and other gurus are beings who are reborn only to teach. It is also believed that they are levels of refinement in human rebirth. Each cycle of rebirth brings one closer to enlightement, or closer to the "unpure state of being".
