the Dark Count

this started out as a really simple practice sketch. then i decided to practice my watercolors on it. then after it was finished, i decided to have fun and ink it. the finished product is very cool to look at. ive really been getting good with my inking and style of using my ink lines. i like then thin and many. the watercolor plus ink is my new inspiration, which is good because i am finally using colors. ^^;

Cool design. Almost reminds me of something from castlevania. I love the smoke around the hilt of his sword. My only critique is that the light blue backround doesn't suit him.

Artist Reply: hey, thanks for all the comments on my art. u commented on sum of my very favorites. yes, Purple Rain had came on VH1 and i watched it, catching bout halfway into till the end. i really admire Prince. oh and funny story about the blue background in 'the dark count' pic. when i originally drew it, it was a really quick sketch, just a few lines and he looked very much younger, so i went and water colored it for that, but when i did the ink details ontop of that; i really went to town. as i added more and more (perhaps too many) details, he appeared to look older and more weathered. hence the evil sword, suddenly came into play, i just kept adding details, it was too much fun. lol
