Back in 2006 I designed the four elements: earth, fire, water, and air. In 2008 I looked at them and thought, "I can do better". Then, in 2017, right in the midst of planning a move and preparing for student teaching in the fall, I got inspired to take one more shot at the four elements. I sketched Earth first, but it wasn't until the very end of December 2017 that I began to color her. I finished her in January of 2018. I've wanted to explore digital painting more, and this has been a fun (albeit frustrating at times) series to revisit.
