Portrait of Vincent Laurensz van der Vinne after Hals

Painted in August 1991 this is a Dutch Master study after Frans Hals. Hals was known for his painterly, loose style which is characteristic of my own approach to painting. This work has been varnished and strip framed ready for hanging. It is definitely of museum quality. Hals was noted for painting while inebriated which perhaps gave his work a very loose brush style anticipating the impressionists.
