Finally, a picture with a background that I really like!! ^.^ The main reason I drew this picture was so I could work on backgrounds, because I'm not that great at them...but I think that this turned out pretty good.
I love the tree!!! is soo detailed and shaded.. and blah blah blah .. i like the person and the mountain and the house and the bushes too... lol .. it's all gooood
1) i dont know what everybody sees in the tree...trees are easy. 2.) you couldve done a teensy better on the chicks expression cause usually when you're wandering you dont look mad. 3) whats up with the house in the background? kim i know you wish you were japanese but it wont happen.
I like your shading and use of distal shortening. This is the first Anime I have commented on because I usually don't find any interest in it. You did an excellent job in capturing the viewers attention. It looks like you are trying to add a misty feel to the background, instead of erasing, try adding light graphite rather than taking it away.
