Westland Wessex HAS 1 A British-built variant of Sikorsky's H-34, the Wessex replaced the piston-engined powerplant with a gas turbine engine. This gave it a larger load capacity, faster startup with less noise and vibration. Sikorsky H-19 Chickasaw Known as the HO4S-3S in US Navy service, the Chickasaw was also license-built by Westland Aircraft as the Westland Whirlwind.
