This picture was taken on the TV screen during our viewing of the 2014 film “THE MONUMENTS MEN” in which a platoon of soldiers set out to recover art treasures looted by the Nazis so that Hitler could fill his planned “Super Museum” at Linz. The house/shops was built in 1745 by a Captain who brought the pine timber over from Canada in his ship, so that he could retire there on The Strand a few yards from Rye Quay.
