First piece in April '17 An experiment with light, shape and texture on this one. I'm still wrestling with the square format, but filling it with beauty comes easier to me these days. One important thing in this study was to get a more stylized approach to portraiture and also get better with hard and soft edges. Still not there yet, but I'm learning a thing or two with each new piece wink Apart from playing with texture and the bold hair shape, I explored some lighting effects to change the mood of the painting towards a late afternoon. The colors complete the impression that it could be a sunny autumn day. Totally agree with the comments below, and I have to say this: Cute freckles! Also: I have to say that I definitely like your style of painting digitally...it has an organic feel (in a dynamic way), despite being a digital artwork!Mandy Thomas 22 Jan 2020
