(updated from a former illustration) -- Jesus told this Samaritan woman of living water that sprang up to eternal life. When she asked for some of “that” water he told her to call her husband and return. Then he said that she had no husband, had five former husbands and that the one she was now with was not a husband. This artwork is of her reply just before Jesus identified Himself as the Messiah of the scriptures. She would leave her water pot to go tell men in the city of the man she found, and Jesus would be staying with the Samaritans for two more days before continuing on to Galilee.
