And the real sadness is that the young will never really know what has been lost. For this we should all be shedding a tear. In this political season let us remind each other that we are ONE NATION with a COMMON PURPOSE, not red and blue states, conservatives vs liberals, Democrats vs Republicans, rich vs poor, people of color vs whites, citizens vs immigrants, and any other form of right vs wrong. My hope is that this artwork becomes a symbol for turning sadness into once again a feeling of optimism, of national pride and the strength of unification.
