Florence Iff EasterInBergen 1

This small village in a remote and forgotten area in Germany is, as many others, arranged along its main street crossing the village. There are about 120 inhabitants living in the depicted houses. Formerly life took place along the road, people gathering, merchandising and greeting passersby on carriages. Since the road's purpose is solely a thoroughfare and the only lively event happening there are passing cars, the buildings have been transformed into sealed off housings converting the atmosphere of the place a very unwelcoming and cold one. Leaving the main road and passing by the houses on the back one encounters cultivated gardens, derelict barns, henhouses and other signs of life. My work depicts solely the inner part of the village, abandoned and cold despite Easter guests.
