Lathmar Holi is a local celebration of the Hindu festival of Holi. It takes place well before the actual Holi in the ‘Rangili Gali” of Barsana 45 kms. From Mathura in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. According to Hindu Mythology Lord Krishna visited his beloved Radha’s village on this day and playfully teased her and her friends. Taking offence at this, the women of Barsana, chased him away. Since then, men from Krishna’s village , Nandgaon, visit Barsana to play Holi.

At last! I have wanted to see a piece on the suejbct of something we can say, Linguistic Hypocrisy. They tell us here (In USA) that the Americans have brought the level of English language at the level that it has not reached since the last 100 years.Now, the self-assigning leader of the free world and officially known as the greatest country in the history of the Universe, ever, honestly- has developed some of the worst linguistic empire in the world. I am not underestimating the American language or something, just saying that in the modern multilingual and global village, there should be no place for linguistic chauvinism. It can be British or American English, it is English and all are same.

This division has probably come out of the political division and in order to prove their separate identity, the nations divided the language.
