My version of Vermeer’s classic painting “Girl with a Pearl Earring”—done as a belly dancer, by a belly dancer! Many tribal-style belly dancers wear dreads as part of their costume, sometimes made of yarn. This colorful portrait is loaded with real Swarovski crystals, beads and pearls and, of course, a real pearl earring. Jewels are sewn onto the canvas, with the exception of the half-round pearls on her necklace that are glued.
