Ghost Bike

This "Ghost Bike" sits at the front end of the town where Steve McQueen grew up and completed his childhood. Slater, Missouri. It's a railroad town with an agriculture and livestock farm community surrounding it. The late and most accomplished actor in Hollywood, Steve McQueen made his "Great Escape" from here in Slater, Missouri way before his "Great Escape" from a Nazi Prison Camp in the film "The Great Escape” was produced. Unique about this is Steve’s ability to ride a motorcycle which he often had demonstrated however the late Loren Janes, Steve’s stunt double was the one who did the jump of barbed wire in the film. I met Mr. Janes and he was as cool as I imagine Steve would have been to meet.
