Artist Reply: Thank you Charles! I tried hard to reveal the eyes of a true poet and a sensitive soul that was tortured by loss in love and addled with loneliness, absinth and who knows what else. Odd thing, was I grew up in the Bronx and it was always amazing to me that Poe actually inhabited that cottage when it was surrounded by a country landscape, not the Bronx of the 50's when we used to "hang out" at Poe Park and hope to chat up some lovelies on any given warm summer night!
