Great Oil, very good for you first painting. I didn't see your comments because I didn't receve nothing for a month from AW. I was one of them, finally it is fixed.
the sky is too saturated at the bottom, it should almost blend with the clouds there, the rocks need a little fine splatter effect for texture, and let a little bit of sky though your larger folige mass and a little shadow in the bottom portion of the smaller one, the water looks green on my screen, is it that color?
Those look alot like Pat's trees....all in all not too crappy... shadows look good and the rocks look good too... maybe next time add more shadows in the rocks that helps to make them more 3 dimensional...but over all a good job...you should be proud of that
Yay Mz Karen.... Welcome to AW (formaly) and i must say its so nice and refreshing to see a first compleyed painting with so much style and smiles... please do more.. you have some great areas in the work and shadow work well done... and have fun! : )

Love the simplicity of style and muted light tones.
