In Memory of Jerry Garcia

I don't usually post my tattoo work as I am trying to promote my art and photography here...but thought some of you might enjoy seeing this dedication to Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. Any Deadheads out there? When Mike came to me...he had only the Thunderskull...no wings...and it was in BAD shape...scared, faded, etc. It was my test, as I was new in town! He like what I did...so next time he came in, he had me add the wings....next time...we did the Jerry portrait....next time the Grateful Dead roses...and lastly...the dancing skeletons...which are tiny and I found myself asking "who do I think I am to try and pull this off?" He lives in Tombstone, Arizona so I will be doing a touchup on the total piece when I go there next month...as there are a few weak spots still. But all in all...I am pretty proud of this one...and it IS ART...right? Time involved to date...Approximately 15 hours.

Absolutely LOVE it! Jerry would be honored. Wish I were brave enough to get a tatoo....I'd want the same thing! The skeletons are perfect!! If it were mine, i'd add some symbols from fav dead songs - maybe some Scarlett Begonias or Fire on the Mountain...the possibilities are endless. Fantastic work!! Moonflower
