Alchemical Transmutation of the Cosmic Self

Medium: Metallic gel pens and acrylic paint markers on 30" by 40" black foam board Time: Roughly 40 hours This piece is 100% line-work, and 100% symbolism. Everything you see on here (aside from the stars) is there for a specific purpose and has a specific meaning. Incidentally, all of the symbolism found in this piece mean the same basic thing, but they all stem from different religions and theologies. It includes symbolism of duality and unity consciousness from Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, as well as Native American, Mayan, Egyptian and Greek theologies. The piece itself represents the alchemy used to unite both aspects of consciousness-- feminine and masculine or conscious and subconscious-- in order to visit the astral realm. The reason it's all done in line-work is to represent the vibrational significance of astral projection and higher dimensions.
