The Tree

This Painting is from a photo I took the day I found out my Uncle, also my Artistic influence, died. I was on my way home after hearing the news when I saw this tree off the highway near one of his favortie stomping grounds as a child. I made about a 30minute detour to circle back and take the photo. This tree literally was screaming for my attention. It was a beautiful crisp sunny November morning, this tree although near the end of it's yearly cycle was glowing with life, color and beauty. I did the painting at his favorite place on Red Deer Lake where he spent the majority of his last months with his Son Eric
