LOUGH MASK

43 x 40cm oil on canvas. LOUGH MASK. An image from one of the islands along the rocky shore looking across the lough towards the Maamtrasna mountains. This is a dark and dangerous water, a good days fishing here needs plenty of wind and a heavy sky .It was carved by the retreating glaziers thousand of years ago.

Excellent Work, Michael!!!!!!!!!!! Smiles & Greetings from Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Artist Reply: Hey Chris , good to hear from you again. This is one of the great limestone lakes of Ireland. Its the best place in the world when there's a good wave on the lough and the fish are rising to the fly all along the shorelines and rocks .Better if theres a couple of fat trout in the boat. Lunch in the lee of the island with tea from the Kelly kettle, nothing beats it. Im getting itchy feet now! seasons started already but the end of may is time enough. If I can wait.

Very nice!

Artist Reply: cheers leah,i love the midland lakes of Ireland. this is a view that very few get a chance to see, as only fishermen frequent this area due to the submerged rocks.
