Traditional English boat on a typical French canal

After a rainy night, walking along the “Canal du Midi” in the south of France, I spotted this striking good-looking narrow-boat (or longboat ?) and I asked myself which miscreant gave her that name? The last years you can see a lot of this kind of boats on the French canals, the chunnel under the North sea make it easy to transport those vessels to the continent. With their breadth of about two meters and their slight draught they are excellent appropriate for those pleasant, quiet waters with their long history. Image size: 180 x 360 mm
