Saint George / Equestrian Series

Digital mural for board of directors. The allegorical theme portrays the history of horsemanship and its relationship to art history. The central figure is Novgorods Saint George who resembles the division line between eastern and western empire and protector of the third Rome. The general composition is embraced by Durer“s anatomical studies of the horse, underlying triumphant depictions of Marcus Aurelius. The three panels are crowned by a continuous frieze illustrating a procession of Teutonic Knights.
