This is a portrait of a slavic girl against an ethnic flower background. This kind of pattrens was traditionally used on the towels used during weding ceremony. The towels were embroidered by the girls themselves, long before the wedding. Every element of the embroidery symbolised some aspect of life of the young couple: prosperity, fertility, protection from evil powers, good home, happiness, tradition and survival of the blood-line.
