Got Wood?

Woodies are so Cool! This great looking ride is a ’39 Plymouth Woody Station Wagon and it runs like a badger on fire – Ha! Funny thing about great looking cars – we were shooting down at the 4-wheel-drive sign down on one of the barrier islands at the Texas Gulf-Coast – miles from anywhere and anyone and a funny thing happened – - – out of the dunes comes this beautiful woman and she wants to pose with the car! Happens every time!!! ‘Course the woman was m’ shooting assistant Gwenie – she had been back in the dunes taking care of some important business and came back into the shot – looked great so we had her spend some time in front of the cammy for a change and I really like the results! Just goes to show – art is filled with happy accidents waiting for us to grab hold! Shot this old woody using the trusty Canon G11 – guys for what I shoot that little camera is hard to beat. Used wide-angle (10mm) – tripod for cammy and used hand held reflectors to bounce light back on everything – moonlight – fog-lights – assorted strobes – 1/15th sec., f/4, iso 400 – What Fun! Thing of it is – if we’d stayed home we would have had a nice evening – maybe played a little pool – - – but out there – at the beach – braving the rattlers in the dunes and covert landings by foreign powers we experienced synchronicity and have a pretty nice pix or two to show for it – and we had great coffee and all smoked cigars while playing pool this morning when we got back home – so there! ~:0) VivaChas!

That's fantastic, Chas!!! Are you writing a book?...

Artist Reply: Thanks AD'A - writing a book - hmm - be one more avenue that doesn't sell - it's a thought though - considered it - so many irons in the fire but would love to do an illustrated coffee table book with my comments on each pix - time - time - time - - - course we commit time to projects we think will produce ~:0) VivaChas!
