Artist Reply: Thank you for your encouraging comment. I was happy to find that the background was relatively light in color, giving a sharp contrast to its black feathers.
Artist Reply: Your comment is appreciated. The bird was about ten feet from my camera. I was delighted to be able to capture its left eye and the huge beak in that composition.
