Star-crossed lovers---a favorite subject matter when I'm in that certain frame of mind. A gorgeous exotic mermaid--a princess of an undersea kingdom, and a woodland fairy--a well-loved warrior in Mother Earth's court--are so in love that they are willing to sacrifice their being who they are just to be with each other. A hybrid fairy mermaid suspends the enchanted jewel that will enable them to be with one another--but only one of them can do this. Could the earth fairy give up his friends, family, the beautiful woodland flora and fauna to live under water with his lady love? Would she, likewise, do the same for him? Little do they know that the answer lies with the small chubby fairy peeking from the hollowed out trunk of an old apple tree. There's more to the magical jewel than meets the eye, for the lovers will know much sorrow and pain before they can attain happiness.
