Chalk Pastel on blk archival board / depicting an event pertaining to the Middle Passage. The British slave trade ships sailed back and forth from the Ivory coast of Africa many, many times with precious human cargo. The African slaves would jump overboard to escape the inhumane torture and filth they endured in route to the Americas. The African slaves that fell sick and died ( which was an astronomical number) where thrown overboard, the massive amount of human bodies changed the feeding and Migration pattern of the sharks in that part of the Ocean. Hi James... Looking at this painting gives an excited feeling of fear ...you've not only given the visual but all the emotions that go with it coupled with the perspective of the shark overtaking and commanding the space although there is much of it......In reading the description I feel overwhelmed with grief and great honor for those who endured for us..I would like to talk to you about a sequel to this that would bring the two together ... I can already see it !! ...and it's earthshaking from the ocean floor up !!Jassy Konopacki 19 Jul 2004
