The scene is close to the artist's home in Sea Point, Cape Town. The setting sun and the reflective colours create an impressionistic painting, reminiscent of Monet's hay stacks. The original was in an exhibition of impressionism in New York. It is gallery wrapped, i.e. painted on all sides, but it can easily be removed from the stretchers and rolled in a heavy cardboard tube for safe and economical shipment.
