Artist Comments: "I chose gouache to paint this sunset scene because this medium has the luminous quality I wanted to portray as the setting sun set the mountain aglow. My substrate was a smooth illustration board to capture the detail of the harbor with its many boats and buildings. I kept the colors simple with a complimentary palette to enhance the vibrancy of the scene."
