Arguably the mosy famous combat aircraft of all time ,the spitfire was to become a legend in its own life time.The picture shows a Spitfire Mk IX of 486 (RNZAF)squadron as it encounters a Messerschmitt BF109G-6 of JG26 high in the clouds above france.
