This 24 x 30 portrait of my grandmother, Margaret Peltier, with grandaughter, Maureen, is a collage of memories from the "up North" cabin my grandpa built. They are seated on my favorite old chair that I would sleep on; the background includes the fishnet curtins Grandma made; on the shelf are boxes of puzzles, and B&M bean jar that I remember on that shelf. I always loved the knotty pine panneling on the fireplace wall. I accompanied my grandparents to the cabin when they laid the patchwork carpeting from samples left over from their furniture store, as well as the "greenish" panneling on the other walls.
