My name is Damon Greenfield. I currently live in Ranson, West Virginia.

I am 35 Years old, I graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1992, then went into the United States Marine Corp. I was enlisted from September of 1992 until March of 1993 . I was injured after a fall during training, and now am a Disabled Veteran. Afterwards I went to Shepherd University to study Criminal Justice. About my painting lifestyle: I used to Watch Bob Ross on TV as a kid, and years later around the age of 27 I started watching him again on TV. I bought some Bob Ross painting books, and his Workshop Video. Just watching him on PBS inspired me to want to paint like him. So I went to my local art store and bought a Bob Ross Master painting set, that pretty much has most of the stuff you need to start to paint.

This style of painting is Oil Paints doing a Wet on Wet oil color. Also my preference is to paint landscape scenes; including all Seasons, waterfalls, rivers, the sea, pretty much anything that you would see in real life. I bought other supplies that I needed, and pretty much just made a mess on the canvas trying to paint like Bob Ross did. I was almost to the point where I felt this wasn't for me, and almost gave it up. Listening to Bob talk about how practice was needed, and he kept implying how easy the style was to paint, I gave it one more shot. Eventually I started making paintings that didn't look like blobs of paint, instead they were starting to take shape and form. Over time my paintings became more and more enjoyable to look at.

Eventually I got to the point where the paintings were catching my families attention, and they encouraged me to pursue it more and keep trying. One Christmas Winter I did my first official paintings for my family as presents. All the paintings turned out nice and my family had them all framed. For some strange reason after those paintings, I lost all interest in wanting to paint anymore. I think it was 2 years before I picked up a brush again and started to paint. Once again I had to learn how to paint all over again. This time I have stuck with it, and have done many paintings that I have published on my website. I completed my Bob Ross Training in July of 2008, and now and a Certified Bob Ross instructor. I teach classes at Ben Franklin in Charles town, WV and AC Moore in Ashburn, VA.
