Bay Area native Francie Simonson earned an honors degree in art from City College of San Francisco while attending the San Francisco Art Institute. She honed her skills in visual art (acrylic painting, watercolors, charcoal sketching, and photography), dance and writing throughout her years in the San Francisco Unified School District. She has been awarded Instagram photo awards from the City of Richmond, City of Fairfield, and City of Point Richmond, and she was given a special photo recognition from Yelp*. She was a finalist in BookFest Book Awards, is a featured photographer on the artwanted.com website and is a video producer for SFGATE. She also holds an honors degree in business management from St. Mary’s College. Trained as a concert pianist, Francie plays flute, saxophone, clarinet, violin, bass and snare drums, vibraphone, xylophone, recorder, and marimba.
