Artist Bio:

Dennis Seiffert was born in Los Gatos, California, and grew up in Northern California, with an awe-inspiring view of Mount Shasta. His interest in photography began when he received his first camera at the age of 12.

Dennis attended CSU Sacramento, where he took classes in lighting design, and he also had the privilege of studying advanced photography with Michael Talbot, Ansel Adams’s former student and assistant. He currently maintains a portfolio of images on Artwanted.com.

Artist Statement:

Photography gives me the ability to capture moments in time when all the elements come into balance within my viewfinder. It fills me with a sense of excitement to know that I have defined a subject the way I want a viewer to see it.

The process I use to create my images is little more than opening my eyes. First, I look at the plain, ordinary structures of the everyday world and search for the hidden beauty, both outside and inside. When I find a likely subject, I return to that location at different times of the day to see how the changing light affects it. By the time I am ready to shoot, I already know what kind of images I want to create.

My hope is that when people see my work they will walk away with a new feeling for architecture, discovering its hidden beauty that they might otherwise overlook or ignore.
