Bio: West Kentucky artist, Arlene Berry, has worked extensively in wood, oils and watercolor but her true passion lies in creating collage using unique papers and acrylics. Berry is a former member of the Paducah Area Painters Alliance (PAPA), the Graves County Art Guild, Mosaic Artist Organization Online and Art and Design Online. She has given classes in mosaics, oil painting and stained glass stepping-stones. Her work can be found at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art and she has been exhibited at PAPA, The Paducah Women's Club Annual Art Show, Graves County Art Guild, Murray Art Guild, Café de la Cobb, The Four Rivers Church of Paducah, Christian Art Center of Paducah, Lady van Tiger's Gallery, The Egg and I Gallery, and is currently represented by The Damselfly in Midway, KY. Artist Statement: I believe that everyone is born with a desire to create. Each individual searches for the outlet in which his or her creativity can be best exhibited. Expressing myself through collage has satisfied that need for me as well as fulfilling a driving desire to work with color, composition, and texture. I believe a similarity is observable between that of collage and that of God taking a broken life and piecing it together again to make it into something of beauty. This correlation inspires me to create pieces that touch the viewer's own spirituality or to make one whom does not know God question their non-belief.
