Bill Morgenstern

Capturing the natural beauty of Northwestern Ontario through photography is something that Bill strives to do. Be it a spring fiddlehead frond, a jeweled spider web or a fall lakeshore ablaze with color, these are some of the subjects that stir Bills blood and creative eye. The play of light, subtlety of color and the intrigue of texture are elements to look for in his images.

Bill photographed across Northwestern Ontario and northern Minnesota for over 20 years. Retiring early from a career in education, he was a full time nature photographer and outdoor writer from Fort Frances, Ontario who now lives in the Texas hill Country near Kerrville, Texas to pursue interests in a warmer climate and different, yet equally beautiful environment.

Local brochures, various calendars, school textbooks, and a few familiar magazines feature some of Bills sensitive images of the area. Look for his images in the Minnesota WeatherGuide Calendars, Teldon Calendars, Bear Country, Cottage Life, ON Nature, and Nature Photographer magazines. Corporate clients include Canadian National Railway, Bell Canada, Oxford University Press, and Honeywell Specialty Materials. Look for Bill's new images to now appear in exciting venues and fine-art galleries in central Texas.

Bill is permanently represented at Cate Zane Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas and previously was represented by Stinger Studio in Georgetown, Texas. Recent exhibits at the Hill Country Art Foundation in Ingram, Texas have included images from Bill's SPIRIT OF THE FOREST series.

The love of exploring new places leads this photographer to out-of-the-way places in Canada and the US to gather stock images for his photo files. Photo travel to Norway, Sweden and the heart of Texas are also favorite destinations. Bill is constantly searching for that moment in time, recorded on film, for all to enjoy.
