Dixie Fowler has been drawing and painting since early childhood. She is self taught, and is always exploring new media. She currently works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, and oil pastel. She was inspired by her father, who was also and artist. Her father encouraged her to find her own path, rather than learning through traditional classes.
Dixie’s focus has primarily been as a portrait artist, and she is particularly skilled at capturing the expression of her subjects whether person or pet. She also enjoys landscapes of imagined mountains, trees, and waterfalls.
Dixie is employed full time as a registered nurse in the operating room at the Roseburg VA.
