However his passion seemed to be with figurative and expressionistic. He began developing the characters he drew as a child and transferred his thoughts to canvas. Along with personal experience Darwin incorporated sarcasm, satires, irony, theatrical elements and finally surrealism and cubism into his work. In some his most recent work, he is experimenting with chiaroscuro a master technique used by many artists during the Renaissance. Darwin's work is fresh and alive and the colors are radiant. The artist is currently promoting a series of self-exhibitions titled The End of Mediocrity A series of exhibitions promoting the search for a modern Renaissance and the end of the anti-art. "Anti-art" was a revolt against aesthetics that started in Paris in 1919. The Dada movement was the main originator of this revolt. Dada wanted nothing, and created only with the intention of proving that creation was nothing. They were in search of destruction of art by artistic means and that oil painting and all aesthetic demands should be abandoned. The artist exhibitions purpose is to bring back a high Renaissance into this modern and contemporary art world. A re-birth of academic skills such as form, structure, perspective, prospective, classicism, romanticism, passion, surrealism and other elements are necessary to accomplish this vision and goal in the art world. His brilliant use of messages hidden and obvious leaves the admirer wondering while constantly discovering something new. The Latin-American Art Museum has recognized Darwin as one of the best young artists of this time.
