Artist Statement:
I am a woman who believes that art is a form of meditation. I believe that it is important to understand how color and texture can play a role in a persons mood. I begin a painting with certain colors in mind, even before shapes and context. For me, art is all about the experiential rather than the conceptual.
I have been an artist since the age of four. But it was not until working in Mexico for 8 months in 2000 that my passion for art was set on fire. The smells, textures, and most importantly colors in Mexico woke my artistic senses and since then I have shown my work in fine art galleries across the nation. I encourage all people to find a passion that wakes them up and allows them to feel productive, creative, and at peace with themselves.
