My name is Carolyn McFann; an artist, writer and illustrator, with over twenty five years' experience in doing realistic artwork for publications, novelty items, and more.
My training was at the Rochester Institute of Technology, in New York but I have also taken supplementary courses at Carnegie-Mellon University, and Cleveland Institute of Art, along with seminars and other courses elsewhere. Having studied nature in great detail throughout my life, my knowlege of botany and zoology is extensive. I eat, sleep and breathe my work (which isn't work for me, I love what I do).
Past projects of mine have included shows at places like the National Aviary, and projects for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Years ago, I lived and worked in Cancun, Mexico when working as the main illustrator for a large nature park there.
I am trained in a variety of media but usually work in pen and inks or airbrush.
