Ilidio Candja was born in Mozambique in 1977 and studied ceramics at Maputo . He began painting in 1977 and his works rapidly became noticed by local dealers and art colectors . After a number of exhibitions in the best galleries of Maputo , Ilidio decided to move to Porto , Portugal , in order to develop his skills and reach a wider audience . His recent exhibition at Galeria Silva Guerreiro , in the Algarve , was an outright success and the artist is now preparing a number of works to be shown in California , USA .
