Barbara Simcoe was born and raised in upstate New York and received an AA in Humanities from Corning Community College before transferring to S.U.N.Y., New Paltz, where she received a BS in Art Education. She moved west with her daughter, Heather, and lived in various cities in California. While in California, she received a certificate in Graphic Design from UC Davis Extension. In 2003, she moved to Arizona and now resides outside Tucson, where she is a member of the Tucson Plein Air Painters Society. She has been painting in acrylics, water-based oils, watercolor and pastels for over 35 years and focuses on landscapes of the southwest. Recently, she began producing digital art on her I-Pad, using Procreate. Her work can also be seen on Facebook and Instagram at Simcoe Studios.
