Artist Bio

When I was growing up, art was always a huge part of my life. It all started with coloring on my parent's living room walls at the age of 4. I got into trouble often for doodling on things I wasn't supposed to like walls important papers, photos, etc.

I loved art all through school and decided to go onto college to pursue a career in art education. Having a father who was a teacher helped steer me into the education field.

I went to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and received my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with an emphasis in art education. I am certified Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade.

I went on to get my Master's degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Educational Administration. I enjoy doing freelance illustrating on the side, and would like to someday illustrate children's books. I joined the SCBWI in 2006. I have attended numerous conferences in order to better my work and create a professional portfolio. I also belong to a children's illustrators critique group. This group had provided me with weekly critiques on my work that have helped me to grow as an illustrator.
