Hello! This is Zhisheng. I am a full-time researcher in an agricultural business but my biggest hobby is art, especially Asian calligraphy, painting and design. I have been learning Chinese brush calligraphy as a small boy back in China. Doing Chinese calligraphy needs a lot of practice, and the practice itself is a meditation. I studied different performing styles and can do pretty good (self-evaluation :) at Kai (standard style), Xin (walking style), and Li (Han official style). I wish to introduce this ancient oriental art to many art fans in the western world. I bet whoever does Chinese calligraphy must admit it is very enjoyable. An old Chinese sayings goes like this: your handwriting will speak out your character and personality. I believe it is true. You does't need to recognize Chinese characters to appreciate Chinese calligraphy work. Itself talks, yet different people may have different interpretion. I appreciate ArtWork provide such a platform for artists from different culture to display their work, to appreciate and learn from each others.
