Self Portrait

Self-taught Alabama fantasy artist Blonde Blythe holds a B.A. degree from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Her artist name was inspired by her first painting sold on eBay, that of a blonde Blythe doll. Shortly thereafter, her Blythe doll art was featured in the national publication, Barbie Bazaar magazine, in the article, "Blythe: American Gothic."

Blonde Blythe was inspired by big eye art early on, when she saw her first Betty Boop cartoons. Later on, she became inspired by the sad-eyed works of Keane, Gig, Maio, & Eden.
