BEV LETARD is an artist from Umhlanga Rocks KZN SOUTH AFRICA. She is a certified member of the Watercolour society of South Africa. Her art career was inspired by her introduction to a Chinese Master Artist of International acclaim and the subject which took her interest in particular was the Koi fish. Bev is invited each year to exhibit at the National Koi show in South Africa and has painted for Koi society functions. Her passion is most definetely the watercolour medium (both watercolours, acrylics and acrylic inks ) and her work borrows the best artistic elements from two different worlds - the traditional painting techniques of the East and the watercolour theory of the West. Her works, both colourful and bright have a distinctive 'zen' feel about them. Bev has sold a lot of work both locally and internationally and she also runs workshops on a monthly basis and has been doing so for the past couple of years. On the sociel side Bev is very involved in helping impoverised communities of South Africa and is particularly involved with children who have been orphaned and affected by the current HIV/AIDS epidemic of her country. She is married, with 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Her philosophy with regards art and life is to share and enjoy!
